Introduction Illinois is ranked 5th among the 50 states of United States. Illinois was the 21st state admitted to union of United States in 1818. The constitution of Illinois consists of three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. Legislative functions are granted to the Illinois General Assembly which consists of 118 members representing and 59 Senator Members. The Senators and House of Representatives are elected from individual legislative districts determined by population and are elected for a two-year term. The members of House of Representatives have no limits. The executive branch of Illinois is led by the Governor of Illinois, who is directly elected by position, votes being cast by popular suffrage residents of the state while four other officers are elected by the citizens of Illinois. The judiciary comprises of the Supreme Court of Illinois and other Appellate and circuit courts.
